Description: Walter Gropius, chairman of the Department of Architecture of the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, tells of his earlier career as a leader in the growth of modern architecture in Germany. Explains that he was the founder of the Bauhaus school in Dessau, Germany, which after World War I played a leading part in the development of conceptions of architecture and design that now have worldwide acceptance.
