Visiting Hawaii in 1930, Rare Home Movie Footage | 16mm Film Scan

Description: Short 100ft home movie filmed by Charles Peet (1903-1945), on a 1930 trip visiting Hilo on the main island of Hawaii. See sights from a sightseeing train through the mountains, to Kilauea Volcano and accompanying steam vents. Per an archived NYT article, Peet married Georgiana M. Slade in the end of December of 1929; I think it's quite possible this was part of their honeymoon trip. *Contact regarding Usage* Exposure/contrast was quite poor through most of the film, put in a lot of corrections to make it watchable. Applied selective noise reduction in in portions where it was very grainy, so youtube compression would handle it better. Soundtrack Added, period PD music from LoC Jukebox- Hawaiian Hula Medley - Frank Ferera (Extended)
