CBPF.; Graduation ceremonies at the University of California, Berkeley were held on June 13, 1956 at California Memorial Stadium. The student speakers were Arlene Joyce McLaughlin and Noel William Nellis. The farewell remarks to the candidates was given by the Chancellor of the University, Edward W. Strong. The remarks to the graduates and introduction of the Commencement Day speaker was given by Clark Kerr, President of the University of California. The address to the graduates was given by the President Emeritus of the University of California, Robert Gordon Sproul. The film is silent and consists of shots of the diploma boxes, shots of the stadium, flags, speaker's platform, preparations, sound booth, nurse's station, people arriving, filling stadium, faculty lining up, graduates filing into seats, faculty procession with military color guard, speakers, conferring honorary degrees, handing out diplomas, speaker.; PFA 1606-29-3767.
