how do you do I'm so glad you are here I want to tell you a story about two puppets I made puppets you know are just empty dolls there is nothing to them but a head two hands and a shirt they can't do anything by themselves but when I put my hands inside them they come alive and can do all sorts of things now when these two puppets first started to move they thought they were doing it all by themselves in fact they didn't even know I was here I'm like you you're like me we're like each other and it's fun to be ha well what shall we do today would you like to build something with my building blocks oh I don't know you build something with my blocks well it really doesn't matter who builds with what as we are both alike yes isn't it nice we both have the same kind of head yes and the same kind of hand yes and the same kind of shirt yes and the same kind of spots what' you say I said it's nice we are both painted with spots who's painted with spots we are you mean Stripes we're fainted with stripes well I hope you give me credit for knowing the difference between spots and Stripes not if you say we have spots we have stripes spots Stripes spot spot I mean Stripes don't be silly look at yourself how can I look at myself in a mirror here hey I do have spots that's what I told you we're painted with spots no no just me you have stripes look hey I do have stripes that's what I told you yeah and they're very handsome too he doesn't have stripes only I have stripes there must be something special about me I don't know that I ought to have any more to do with him oh you beautiful doll he's different from me I'd better watch him you can't trust people who are different they might try to put something over on you I'll just not have any more to do with it instead I'll play with my blocks [Music] [Music] [Music] there and you stay on your side of the wall I don't allow anybody over here unless he has stripes like mine well who cares I wouldn't come over there if you beg me to Stripes stripes are nothing anybody can have stripes chipmunks have stripes skunks have stripes [Music] he did that on purpose well I can make as much noise as he can how'd you like that noise spots what's the matter you jealous of something what's that sounds like a machine gun it is a machine gun he's getting ready to fight me I don't want to fight him what am I going to do if I could just scare him off I I know I'll get my Halloween mask and put it on and scare him and then he won't dare hurt me how'd you like that noise Stripes it's too quiet over there he's up to something he's probably getting ready to hurt me I don't want to fight him I don't want to fight anybody if I could just scare him all I could uh I know I'll get my Halloween mask and put it on and scare him and then he won't dare hurt [Music] me I am a dragon when old spot sees this man he will run like a [Music] I am a ghost when strip sees this mask you'll fall in a paint I guess I better practice making some scary noises [Music] [Music] boo he's got a great big dragon to help him I can't fight a great big dragon I'm too little I need help there's nothing to me but my little head and my little hands and my little shirt and oo who are you I'm the toy maker what do you make I made you you did yes well then uh do you like me yes very much well if you like me you must be on my side and you're so big too much bigger than my friend Stripes my enemy stripes or or his Dragon wait till I go get my fighting clothes on and I'll show old Stripes who's more important here what do I going to do I'm outnumbered I can't fight no ghost I know what I'll do I'll hide here's a hill I'll climb up in the hills and hide what are you doing I'm climbing this hill wait a minute Hills can't talk see here you're no Hill no I'm the one who made you well when did you get here oh I'm here all the time well I never saw you before you never looked but I'm right with you every minute is that so well then I can beat the spots off of spots uh you will be right behind me oh I'll be closer than that good I wonder what he meant by that oh well with him behind me what can I [Music] [Music] lose who turned out the light come out come out wherever you are oh there you are stand up and fight like a man I defy you I I uh oh well it's just a good thing I wasn't him boy or I'd have given him a right to the right and a left to the left and i' i' I'd uh uh you do what well you better not hit anybody with that stick boy how it out oh no here no no don't don't not not that no no no look on my ear let on my ear no no [Music] [Music] what happened something went wrong what became the toy maker I'm still right here well I thought you were on my side I am then why didn't you help me beat strip because I'm on his side too you are of course I made you both and I love you both and I couldn't take sides against either of you after all you are both the same thing oh no we're not we're very different entirely different I have nothing in common with him well let's see if that's so Stripes go over and hit spots now wait a minute be still spots I just want to show you go ahead Stripes oh [Laughter] boy oh what's the matter Stripes I don't feel so good why is it when I had him I don't feel so good that's what I want you both to understand do you know what you are sure it's my little head and my little hands and my little shirt and my um and your arm and your shoulder and you then un part me and part you yes but there's more than that keep going well then there's your other shoulder and your other arm and then there's spots hey spots we're all one thing you me and the toy maker then when you hit me it hurts you because because because I'm really hurting part of myself that's right but wait I have spots and he has stripes if we are both the same thing why don't we look alike I never make any two things look exactly alike else how could anyone tell them apart but you are really both the same or you are really part of me hey spot yeah if the toy maker is always with us then we need never be afraid or angry or lonely gee you can play with my blocks anytime you want to thank you that makes me very happy and that makes me very happy [Music] I am you you are me we are each other and it's fun to be [Music] [Music] oh
