To the Skies! Goodyear Blimp, Stunt Flying, Glider Airshow ca. 1929 | 16mm Film Scan

Description: ~50 ft reel from a currently unknown airshow. Based on the "Puritan" NC-7a Goodyear blimp going into service in 1928 and the style of the aircraft, I'm no aviation historian but I assume it's around then; this was shot on Agfa stock with no date code. Film showcases a variety of aircraft, including an unpowered glider. This film is in quite rough shape and has succumbed to vinegar syndrome where the acetate base breaks down and acetic acid crystalizes out. On a number of frames in this film, you can clearly see the crystal structure of the acetic acid. Also quite large grain size so compression wasn't kind to it. *Contact for Usage* 0:00 Chatting with pilots 0:03 Bi-plane stunt flying 0:22 On the ground with aircraft 0:58 Formation flying 1:03 Shots of various planes 1:35 Glider towed to flight 1:53 Goodyear Blimp 2:16 Blimp Landing #blimp #airship #goodyearblimp #biplane #stuntflying #airshow #aviation #historical #film #16mm
