e [Music] n [Music] [Applause] [Music] the place Rochester a town in the state of New Hampshire USA the time a school day morning in April it was here in the region known as New England that free education in America began the first students were taught the fundamentals Reading Writing and arithmetic but the students of today in all parts of the country may study many other subjects as well [Music] [Music] n n [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] to young people learning to play music comes the joy of self-expression and a deepened appreciation of the world that lies around them [Music] some members of the school emble plan careers in music but most intend to be nurses or Engineers Farmers or merchants and play music for the fun of it nearly all of them earn money for their own musical instruments either through jobs after school or by helping out at home oh [Music] [Music] [Music] when the date is set for a concert the whole school proud of its musicians pitches in to help [Music] as the day for the concert approaches the players put in many extra hours of practice [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] a [Music] a [Music] there's music in the town of Rochester New Hampshire and in the thousands of other American towns where the interest of parents of businessmen and other members of the community has made possible the formation of school bands and orchestras [Music] with the pleasure of watching their children comes to the town's folk a stirring of pride in New England and its traditions [Music] [Applause] [Music] as in New England so in all America music plays an important part in people's lives for communities across the land have learned the Delight that comes when there's music in the town [Music] [Applause] [Music]
