Description: Travel back to 1931, on the deck of a yacht (The Iolanda) crossing the equator in this silent 16mm home movie. Showcases a once popular event held on ships at sea when passing over the equator, called a Line-Crossing or Equator Crossing ceremony. In this one we can see people in full costume as King Neptune and queen, as well as a sailor with a giant prop shaving razor; all the men get dunked into a makeshift pool. Throughout the film a man with headphones can be seen (wearing suit, hat, glasses) standing near the pool wearing, holding and wearing them.
