The Ships and Views of New York Harbor, 1924 Home Movie | 16mm Film Scan

Description: A very early 16mm home movie dating to November 1924 (oldest film I've done, 1924 films are very rare), filmed by Thomas Corrigan Bourke. Shows shots of New York City harbor, skyline, various ships and boats, Ellis island and more. Shot on a hand-crank Cine-Kodak Model A, and being an early film of his he didn't quite have the crank timing down so frame rate/speed is variable. Had to grade this footage quite heavily, originally had very little contrast. *Contact for Usage* 0:00 Cunarder Aquitatania 1:11 Passengers Board the "Paris" 1:36 Casting Off 2:19 Tugboats Help Swing her 3:10 "Rum Chaser" down the North River 3:46 Paris starts out for Havre 4:39 "Duillio" coming in from Naples 5:21 "United States" Scandinavian American Line from Stockholm 5:47 A Tramp Steamer 5:57 Coastwise Freighter 6:24 Battery Park 6:51 Approaching Bedloe's Island 7:11 Ellis Island 7:33 Governor's Island and Brooklyn 7:53 End of the Island & Skyscrapers 8:09 Looking up the Canyon of Broadway 8:27 36ft Rum Chasers at Coast Guard Dock #NewYorkHarbor #1924 #16mmFilm #HomeMovie #CunarderAquitania #TheParis #Duilio #ScandinavianAmericanLine #TrampSteamer #Tugboats #EllisIsland #CoastGuard #RumChasers #MaritimeHistory #OldNYC #VintageTravel #HistoricFootage #RareFootage
