The Pearls of the Crown

Duration: 6 reels

Genre: Foreign Language Films

Format: 16mm

Sound: Sound

Credits: Sacha Guitry

Description: Sacha Guitry has made a film that covers five centuries, presents a panoramic history of France and England from 1500 to almost the present. It speaks in four languages, English, French, Italian, and Abysinian. Explanatory titles appear when languages other than English are used. It is interesting to everyone and is recommended highly for students of French and Italian. To students of history, it is probable that much of the tangle of Europe's Kings, Queens, and successions emerge more clearly than they ever did from the history book. (Recommended for curriculum enrichment.)
