Description: William K. Everson notes that "Milky Way is perhaps the interesting find of the whole (Morrison collection).... It's a film the AFI knows absolutely nothing about", and also that it's "... an extremely good film".; Accession card cites film length as 200 ft., while Morrison inventory list cites length as 4,850 ft.. As film is on one 2000 ft. reel, inventory record seems doubtful, or else a can is missing.; Running time: 56:00.; This independently produced film is the earliest extent example of Van Dyke's dramatic work.; PFA 1620-108-8643. It doesn't look as if it's ever been screened"; unknown to cataloger how W.K.E. determined print was direct reduction and not struck from a reduction intermediate; hand-written notes on can say print is slightly shrunken, but runs fine on Hortson; as this note is undated, it may be adviseable to look at shrinkage before projection. CONDITION NOTE: Inspected 2017/05/30 cv; good; 10 splices; looks complete; looks sharp; light scratches.
