Gianni, a good-hearted boy who attends the Salesian youth center, becomes friends with Robi, a peer who has fallen in with the wrong crowd. Gianni affectionately tries everything he can to get Robi back on the right path. He succeeds just before an incurable illness - much like what happened to Domenico Savio - cuts short his young life: in fact, not only Robi but also the other young people rescued from the vices of the street rush to Gianni's bedside as he lies dying. Gianni, ein gutherziger Junge, der das Salesianer-Oratorium in Turin besucht, freundet sich mit Robi an, einem Gleichaltrigen, der in schlechte Gesellschaft geraten ist. Gianni setzt sich auf vielfältige Weise liebevoll dafür ein, Robi wieder auf den richtigen Weg zu bringen. Das gelingt ihm kurz bevor eine unheilbare Krankheit, ähnlich wie es bei Domenico Savio der Fall war, sein junges Leben beendet: Um das Bett des Sterbenden Gianni versammeln sich nämlich nicht nur Robi, sondern auch die anderen Jugendlichen, die vor dem Laster der Straße gerettet wurden. Gianni, un bravo ragazzo che frequenta l'oratorio salesiano di Torino, diventa amico di Robi, un coetaneo dedito alle cattive compagnie. Gianni si prodiga affettuosamente in mille modi per riportare Robi sulla buona strada. Ci riesce poco prima che un male incurabile, similmente a quanto accadde a Domenico Savio, tronchi la sua giovane vita: attorno al lettino del morente Gianni accorre infatti non solo Robi ma accorrono anche gli altri ragazzi strappati al vizio della strada. Maxton is shopped and convicted of robbery. Maxton serves his time, returns home to his son. The gang want the money which he buried but Maxton want's nothing more to do with it or them. At the end of the film, a policeman tells Maxton that the stolen money had been found 3 years previously.
