The Big Lighthouse And The Little Steamship (1970)

[Music] once there was a lighthouse a big yellow Lighthouse who worked all night and slept all day who stood on the shore and looked out to see and beamed his light to warn the ships of the dangerous [Music] rocks and his friends all knew that he worked all night [Music] so his friends were quiet while the lighthouse [Music] slept now Along came a steamship a new little steamship who'd never been out on the sea you see he had just been built and he didn't know much so when he saw the lighthouse asleep he said to himself what a lazy fellow I'll wake him up [Music] good thought the ship when the lighthouse woke up if that big yellow fellow ever wants to get ahead then he better stay [Music] [Applause] awake when the lighthouse went to sleep again the steam ship got very [Music] angry and the steamship made fun of the tired yellow lighthouse [Music] the seagull called you might be sorry that you made the lighthouse angry but the steamship didn't care because he didn't know what a lighthouse does [Music] and then without warning a storm came [Music] up the waves grew high and Fierce and Wild and the steamship lost his way and by mistake he began heading for the rocky shore on the shore the lighthouse beamed his light to warn the ships that might come close to the dangerous [Music] rocks when when the lighthouse caught sight of the helpless ship he turned off his light I will not help that ship he thought not that rude little ship let him help [Music] himself the seagull cried there are rocks ahead but the steamship couldn't see where they were [Music] the seagull knew that the only hope was to get the lighthouse to beam his [Music] light the steam ship in danger the seagull cried you must light your beam remember he's really a very young ship he isn't as old and wise as you there's much that he has to learn don't let your anger rule your mind do your job help the steamship see the dangerous [Music] rocks and so the lighthouse showed that he was wise and good he turned on his [Music] light did the steam ship see the light did he know what it meant yes he did [Music] all through the storm the lighthouse beamed his light showing the ship where the Rocks [Music] were and the little ship understood he was able to keep away from the dangerous Shore he was safe all through the storm [Music] and when the storm was over the happy ship thanked the lighthouse and then went on his way and he had learned a lesson don't criticize until you're sure that you know all the facts and even though the lighthouse was old and wise he had learned something too no matter how much you think you know a little advice can sometimes be helpful [Music]
