Description: The story of "The Tell-Tale Heart" as told by a single actor using only an old chair and fantastic lighting techniques as "props." Short biographal sketches and excerpts from other Poe works are given by the same actor in a classroom setting Edgar Marsh becomes infatuated with his neighbour Betty Clare when he sees her undressing in her bedroom. He showers her with jewelry and fantasizes about their future. Complications arise when he introduces her to his friend Carl Loomis, whom Betty finds more attractive. In order to eliminate the competition, Edgar bludgeons Carl to death with a poker and buries him beneath the floorboards in his piano room.
