This film is unusual among travelogues because it shows not only native life but also the modern aspects of the country. The film starts with the bathing of the sacred white elephants of Siam. We are then taken to the market place and we see the fruit stands, etc. The graceful and energetic stick fight is next presented. A snake farm is visited and the poison they make is called the most deadly poison known. The snakes are cultivated and milked for their venom for use for snake bites. A very exciting picture of a fight between a cobra and a mongoose is shown. The mongoose, which is a domestic pet of the Siamese, is used to protect against snakes and is the winner." Harold B.
