Seiberling Tires at Work - 1929 Promotional Film | 16mm Film Scan

Year Published: 1929

Creator: Frank Seiberling

Description: Silent promotional film (soundtrack added) from Seiberling tires, demonstrating them on various vehicles, and one of their retailers, Girard Hardware in Pennsylvania. Finishes up with a stunt of a car crashing through a barrier, I guess that's what happened if you didn't use Seiberling tires! Seiberling tire was an offshoot of the Goodyear Tire Company created by the founder Frank Seiberling in 1921, independent until 1965 when they were purchased by Firestone. Originally, the footage out front of the gas pumps/hardware store was spliced on after the end title; I inserted it after the Girard Hardware Illustration for cohesiveness. Also, only had one frame of the "Tires at Work" title, so I recreated it to be longer. *Contact regarding usage* Soundtrack Added, public domain from LoC: Fox Trot Day - McKee's Orchestra #SeiberlingTires #Seiberling #ArchivalFootage #1920s #AutomotiveHistory
