Description: Savitri (Vanisri) the only daughter of Aswapathi Maharaja (Gummadi), King of Madra has married to Satyavantha (Krishnam Raju), son of a blind King Dyumatsena Maharaja. She marries him knowing he has only a year to live after marriage. On the day he is to die Satyvantha gets dizzy and lays his head in Savitri's lap. Yama Dharma Raju (N. T. Rama Rao) descends on earth to claim his soul.
