Description: Survival of 17th century life in present-day conditions. Richard Finnie, noted travel lecturer, takes us into the Quebec back-country, where people still plow with oxen, spin and weave at home on hand wheels and looms, make all their own clothing and provide practically all their own food. A striking religious procession and lively rural dance, plus fishing off the Gaspe, make this one of the most interesting and instructive of social science films.
