Description: Introduction incorrectly states: "The following three films were produced in France by Georges Méliès, and though not positively identified, are believed to date from 1898 to 1900. The first is probably An astronomer's dream (1898). The second is an earlier, shorter version of the widely shown A trip to the moon (1902), using the same scenario, but different performers and settings. The third is an unidentified oriental fantasy."; "The print shown here is produced on Eastmancolor film from a hand-painted 35mm original print."; At least two of the titles included in this compilation were not made by Georges Méliès, but by Segundo de Chomón for Pathé Frères: Le voyage sur Jupiter (1909) and An excursion to the moon (1908).; The segment, An excursion to the moon, is incomplete. Roughly the first half has been removed (from the original print?).; Information on Segundo de Chomón segments derived from IMDb.com (retrieved 2013/11/08) and: Segundo de Chomón, beyond the cinema of attractions (1904-1912) / by Joan Minguet Batllori, Cinemateca de Catalunya, 1999.; Introduction (39 ft.) (111 ft.).; Pacific Film Archive collection; non-circulating.
