Description: Silent (soundtrack added) film of the harvest and processing and coffee from the mountainous regions of Colombia, primarily for the American Coffee Corporation. There was a large coffee boom in the United States during the 1920s, I presume this film was made as a part of that. Film may also have been produced or funded in part by the A & P Company, from how they are referenced. The sheer scale they were operating at while doing so much with manual labor is really quite impressive, a lot of work really went into a cup of joe! An unknown amount of film is missing, but the whole harvesting & processing appears to be shown. My best guess on the missing part would be a primer on the growing popularity of coffee in the US. This specific copy was printed in 1929, but I am unsure of when exactly it was first released. Appears to have been essentially entirely lost and forgotten - only references I could uncover were listings in the 'non-theatrical blue book of films', 1930 & 1935 eds. *Please Contact Regarding Usage* Lightly adjusted contrast/exposure throughout, applied flicker reduction.
