Lindbergh's International Victory Tour - Europe, D.C., New York (1927) | 16mm Film Scan

Description: Watch the world celebrate Charles Lindbergh in this silent (soundtrack added) film, when completed his solo Transatlantic voyage on May 21, 1927, being welcomed everywhere he went. Begins at the US Embassy in France being awarded a medal by the President, continues on to Belgium where he visits the Unknown Soldier, and onto England with a massive crowd. They then travel on the U.S.S. Memphis to the United States, touring through Washington D.C. and awarded a medal by President Coolidge. Then, the second film/half is entirely in New York City, beginning with Lindbergh's arrival by the bay, being cheered on by thousands of spectators from ships. Remainder of the film is his tour through the ticker-tape parade, ending with being awarded the Medal of Valor from Governor Smith. These are two separate 100ft Kodak Cinegraph home releases I edited together, No. 8502 (Lindbergh Abroad and at Washington) & No. 8503 (Lindbergh Captures New York). I assume Kodak licensed the footage from the Kinogram company for these reels, given the titles. *Contact Regarding Usage* Stabilized and corrected for contrast/exposure best I could with in reason, really wasn't the best print and film had some pitting/scratching.
