The 1984 U.S. release version was also 139 minutes per M/B/RS descriptive material. The 1962 U.S. release version was ca. 90 minutes (ca. 8100 ft.) per the New York times 1962, Ja24, 24:2. 126 minutes is given as the U.S. release length by Eren, and as a "foreign release version" in the M/B/RS descriptive material. They are pursued by enemies of her clan, bent on capturing the family war fund of gold bars. The gold is hidden but is discovered by two cowardly, opportunistic samurai, Tahei and Matashichi.
