JOIN THE NAVY: 8 Classic US Navy Recruitment Ads | 16mm Film Scan

Description: Eight minutes of US Navy produced recruitment PSAs/Ads from the 1960s-1970s. The ads range from ones that imply the Navy will get you women, to a serious biography piece of Master Chief Carl Brashear who sounded like the toughest man in the whole Navy. He was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. in the 2000 movie Men of Honor. Put in a lot of work individually color correcting them, every one was nearly totally red or magenta faded. I did clean the film once, but a lot of debris was really well stuck to the film. Films arranged in chronological order. The listed dates have about a year margin of error, I was just working off the edge codes present on the film. I basically couldn't find reference online to a single one of these films online, they had been lost to time. *Please Contact Regarding Usage* 0:00 - Be a WAVE (1966) 0:20 - Naval ROTC (1968) 1:20 - The Navy is In (NROTC) (1970) 1:50 - 3 Year Enlistment (1972) 2:51 - Profile: Master Diver Carl Brashear (1976) 6:33 - The Spirit of Navy (1976) 7:03 - New England Coast (1977) 7:33 - Port of Call South Pacific (1977) Keywords: vintage military PSA, retro TV ad, classic recruiting commercial, archival Navy advertisement, Cold War era spot, 1960s television commercial, 1970s television commercial, government advertising, public service announcement, patriotic advertising, Navy enlistment, three year enlistment, college scholarships, leadership training, boot camp, radar technician, Carl M.
