CBPF.; Sachbearbeiter: Polarforscher Sonderführer Dr. Sorge.; Instruction is given by Polar explorer Dr Sorge who has built more than one hundred of these very simple houses in different lands. Soldiers and explorers have now with German thoroughness investigated the living conditions and military suitability of the eskimo-style igloo and have found it offers protection against not only wind and cold but also against detection and bombardment. Sorge's voice then describes the method of construction over film of a platoon of mountain troops building an igloo on the side of a mountain. Finding a suitable site, laying out tools, clearing and tracing foundations, cutting and sledge- transportation of snow blocks, building up rings, careful positioning of final blocks. Basically complete igloo now has curved entrance tunnel added, brushwood, canvas and blankets laid inside and ice-pane windows inserted in the roof. Soldiers enter igloo taking care to bring their tools inside and then close the entrance before settling down.
