Hughes 'Hot Cycle' XV-9A Turbojet Helicopter Prototype Footage | 16mm Film Scan

Description: Soundtrack is not historically accurate; was recreated from a variety of effects as the film was silent. This is my first real attempt at a Foley, let me know what you think. Film dates to early 1964; date on reel is May 22 1964. In layman's terms (as I understand it) the Hughes "Hot Cycle" prototype was an attempt to use turbojet engines with a helicopter; and redirecting thrust from those turbines out through the the angled tips of the propellor blades. This is the concept shown by the rotating steam desk toy at the start. This footage shows the test platform, inside the control room, and the assembly of the chassis. This reel was labelled unclassified.
