Description: In this 1930 home movie (soundtrack added) filmed by Charles Peet (1903-1945), join a hunting trip with the Chelsea Plantation Club. The Chelsea Plantation Club was a private hunting club that used the Chelsea plantation property in Jasper County. The young woman seen would be Peet's wife, Georgiana Mary Slade Peet. I believe the older mustachioed man to be railroad exec George Theron Slade, Peet's father in law. The last song's lyrics do contain a couple of dated offensive terms; however I found the song provided additional historical contexts of peoples general attitudes and views of the times. The plantation house burned down in 1936, eventually being rebuilt by a new owner. I'm not sure who "The General" at the end would be. Perhaps the head of the club? Leave a comment if you know!
