Reel created by art instructor Gustave Cimiotti, who explains this in a title: "These motion pictures filmed in room 408 represent the activities of one of the Saturday morning classes in drawing, sculpture and painting. The students range in age from 12 to 17." Shown are a wide range of students engaged in painting, drawing, and performance in a decidedly free-spirited mode with students playing practical jokes on one another and making outrageous faces at the camera. With girls and boys, Black learners and white, and older and younger learners all sharing activity space with one another.
