Description: Description: Content warning for an instance of domestic violence at 02:38.

In the shadow of the San Gabriel mountains, the appearance of a film camera among groups of family members, neighbors and friends affects everyone around it, as subjects in this reel appear to be visibly composing themselves and performing for the benefit of the camera, some awkwardly, some a bit more gracefully. Among those who avoid the camera are a Walker hound dog, while others appear to have dressed up for the occasion of being filmed. At least one man among this group has a demonstrated propensity to harm women. Illustrates the way that violence can be inflicted casually and with the recipient compelled to participate in naturalizing the behavior.
