Description: Clip of 16mm 'home movie' silent footage dating to 1951, of Grumman HU-16 Albatrosses (then called SA-16) taking off and landing in the snow at an Air Force base in Alaska. Some sections of the film have a bit of damage/degradation of some kind. In a couple of shots, the logo for the Military Air Transport Service can be seen on the rear of the aircraft; they had stations in Elmendorf and Ladd AFB.
