A specially prepared excerpt from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film dealing with civil rights and with family. Her mother blames the girl's father for not making enough money to give his daughter the social status she craves. At a dance the girl is snubbed and humiliated. Family problems grow out of a father's lack of financial success. His daughter's sensitiveness to appearances leads her into exaggeration and fantasy in her relationship with a young man. The mother blames her husband for the fact that his daughter is handicapped socially.
