Produced in collaboration with Earle K. James, lecturer on South American affairs and former editor of the Latin American News magazine. Calls attention to varied aspects of the Chilean scene—mountains, deserts, glaciers, mines, ports, and pastoral areas—before proceeding to an estate in the agricultural Central Valley. Here the role of the estate is seen in relation to the visiting owner and his family, the farming population, and Chilean agriculture generally. On the family's return to Santiago, varied aspects of Chile's capital city are featured—especially its role as an educational center. Spanish dialog is extensively employed throughout
