Chiffon - Dishwashing Liquid for Blondes commercial

Genre: TV Commercial

Year Published: 1952

Creator: Film Fair Prod

Description: "Marvin Potts" TV ad for Chiffon Dishwashing Liquid, the one "mild enough for blonde skin". Produced by Film Fair Prod. Featuring Bea Benaderet of The Flintstones & more, as pointed out by folks in the comments! I don't know the specific date on this one. The date code on the film appears to be 1952 which would be too early, since Film Fair didn't exist then. Also, the style seems much more 1960s. I found in Television Age scans from 1961/1962 that they had produced one Chiffon advertisement by 1961, and seemingly another in 1962. Also hard to research Chiffon as a brand, given it's just a word. *Contact Regarding Usage* Corrected for contrast and sharpened. frame-line stabilized as it was not the steadiest print. Audio extracted with AEO-light, EQ applied for clarity. #RetroCommercials #VintageAds #1960sTV #ClassicCommercials #RetroAds #AdvertisingHistory #Nostalgia #VintageAnimation #ClassicTV #1960s

[Music] Marvin Pots, what's this chiffon doing in your briefcase? Did you get this for that secretary of yours? Henrietta, that is the dishwashing liquid for blondes and your secretary is a blond. Now, if that's not fair. It's called a dishwashing liquid for blondes because it's mild enough for the most delicate kind of skin, blonde skin. So, it's easy on anybody's hands. Even yours, sweetheart. Yours, too, Romeo. Wash new chiffon. Gentle to all hands.
