Description: Three bee types—queen, drone and worker—are isolated and compared, their distinctions in appearance and function emphasized. A magnified egg-cell is opened, we watch the hatching and learn of the changing diet of the first 6 days. Several bees emerge unaided, workers and drones. The distinctive pollen cells are shown, nurse bees ram down the pollen with their heads as fast as it is brought in by the workers. Details of flowers. The orchard in bloom is the happy hunting ground of the busy bee.
