B-47 Stratojet – Crash, Takeoffs & Landings, Rare Footage | 16mm Film Scan

Description: Collection of silent footage (ca. 1956 or earlier) from the United States Air Force of takeoffs and landings of the Boeing B-47 Stratojet strategic nuclear bomber. Written on the film header was R-1 EAFB UNCL # 19300, with the foliage it doesn't appear to be Edwards AFB at least. Unsure of exactly where these were filmed. Update- thanks to research & info in the comments from Robert Belcher and Paul Lacey, the crash appears likely to be in the U.K.'s RAF Lakenheath: 53-4230 on 27th July 1956 Film had a lot of rapid cuts unfortunately, I cut some of the absolute worst out, kept some less-ideal parts as it's probably the only known footage of some of these. I could make out the following MSN 'tail numbers': 34325 31915 31909 34236 32142 32413 34219 34228 31909 32417 34241 34217 32140 Potential crash info, comment by Steven Marshall - 13 October 1955. A Boeing B-47B-40-BW Stratojet, 51-2231, of the 320th Bombardment Wing,[34] crashes while taking off from March Air Force Base, California. *Contact Regarding Usage* Portions of film appear to be a multiple generation copy and just was not printed/developed very well in the first place, seems pretty typical for these military films. I heavily corrected it to the best of my ability to improve quality and uniformity, the worst parts have about 10 separate adjustment layers!
