Took place at Panmunjeom, a village that now resides in the Korean DMZ. Was not too long before the war officially ended when Armistice agreement was signed in July 27 of 1953. Transcription

We met for the first time this morning with the representatives of the Korean People's Army and of the Chinese People's Volunteers. Previously, there had been a meeting at the Secretariat level which ironed out a number of administrative matters. In general, their attitude was courteous and we believe that their attitude is conducive to the future of these preliminary talks. While it is too early to make any prediction, I am very hopeful that we will be able to achieve results.
