hi I'm Virginia Graham it's my honor to be chairman of the American Cancer Society's 1969 cancer crusade to me the fight against cancer is a very personal one because a few years ago I went to my doctor with what I thought were minor symptoms well it turned out that I had cancer but because I went to the doctors on time I can count myself as one of the 1 million five hundred thousand Americans cured of cancer I'm convinced that everybody should know the life-saving facts about cancer and I urge you to see your doctor once a year for a health check-up chances are of course that nothing will be wrong with you and your visit will give you that greatest gift of gifts peace of mind so will you help yourself with a check-up and help others with a check a generous check when your American Cancer Society volunteer calls on you
