A montage of home movie footage, depicting Curt's extended midwestern family, flits by in murky recollection while the artist converses with another Indianan about a recent trip back. The droll commentary, McDowell's blase observations counterpointed by a biting avuncular voice in repartee, floats above a parade of mundane doings, backyard barbecues, aimless walks, cheerful gatherings, that illustrate McDowell's sense of a culture in suspension like a doldrum of inactivity." -- Steve Seid; PFA 1604-01-15112.
