Der 15-jährige Hauptschüler Özgür Ergül hat seine Hausaufgabe - einen Lebenslauf - schlampig und unvollständig abgeliefert. Den Lehrer lässt Özgürs schweigendes Zurückweisen aller Gesprächsangebote in Zorn geraten: 'Wie soll ich dich verstehen, wenn du nicht mit mir sprichst?' In Bildern aus seiner Kindheit, in der Konfrontation mit Lehrer und Mitschülern rekonstruiert der Film Özgürs persönlichen Lebenslauf und seine Träume und Hoffnungen. Istanbul und München sind mehr als geografische Pole: Im kulturellen Spannungsverhältnis zwischen beiden Lebensräumen aufgewachsen, sucht Özgür nach verbindenden Werten und Idealen. Während Özgür sich eingesteht, dass er sich in Istanbul nach München und in München nach Istanbul sehnt, möchte er, dass seine Kinder 'mal wissen, wo sie daheim sind, wo sie hingehören'. The 15-year-old secondary school pupil Özgür Ergül has handed in his homework - a CV - sloppily and incompletely. Özgür's silent rejection of all offers of conversation infuriates the teacher: 'How am I supposed to understand you if you don't talk to me?' The film reconstructs Özgür's personal life and his dreams and hopes in images from his childhood, in confrontations with his teacher and classmates. Istanbul and Munich are more than geographical poles: growing up in the cultural tension between the two living spaces, Özgür searches for unifying values and ideals. While Özgür admits that he longs for Munich in Istanbul and for Istanbul in Munich, he wants his children to 'know where they are at home, where they belong'.
