Ein Interviewer (aus dem Off) befragt Kinder im Alter von sieben bis zehn Jahren zu folgenden Themen: Zeugung und Geburt; Himmel und Hölle; Tod; Zukunftserwartungen; Krieg; deutsche Zeitgeschichte und Politik, Hitler, Juden; Fernsehwerbung; Identität. Die Interviews erfolgen mit den Kindern allein und meistens in dem jeweiligen häuslichen Milieu, so dass gelegentlich auch Rückschlüsse auf die soziale Schichtung möglich sind. Das Frageschema ist prinzipiell bei allen Kindern gleich. Der Film von Rainer Hagen wurde am 1. Januar 1971 im Deutschen Fernsehen auf NDR 3 ausgestrahlt.
