Am Beispiel verschiedener tollwutkranker Tiere führt der Film die Symptome dieser Krankheit vor Augen. Anschließend werden mit Hilfe von Trickaufnahmen die Lebensweise der Tollwutviren, der Infektionsweg und die Verbreitung der Krankheit unter Wild- und Haustieren veranschaulicht. Eine dritte Sequenz geht auf die Bedrohung des Menschen durch die Tollwut ein und stellt die dagegen ergriffenen vorbeugenden Maßnahmen und die Möglichkeiten, bei Gefahr einer Infektion entgegenzuwirken, vor.
Using the example of various animals suffering from rabies, the film demonstrates the symptoms of this disease. It then uses trick shots to illustrate the way rabies viruses live, the route of infection and the spread of the disease among wild and domestic animals. A third sequence deals with the threat posed to humans by rabies and presents the preventive measures taken against it and the possibilities of counteracting an infection if there is a risk.
