Er vermittelt das Wissen über die Umsetzung der natürlichen Gegebenheiten in die Symbolsprache der Karte. The film shows the excursion of a school class with their teacher Alexander Schindler to the surroundings of their Thuringian hometown Seitenroda (with the Leuchtenburg), located near Kahla in the county of Jena, district of Gera.
