Das Motto des Kongresses lautete 'Lasst endlich Europa werden'. Sportwettkämpfe und kulturelle Veranstaltungen gehörten zum Rahmenprogramm. Hauptredner der Versammlung war der Friedensnobelpreisträger von 1951, Leon Jouhaux. 18.07.1952: Erstes Bundesjugendtreffen der Gewerkschaftsjugend mit rund 30.000 Teilnehmern unter dem Motto: 'Wir tragen die Zukunft'. Den Höhepunkt bildet die Internationale Großkundgebung in der Festhalle. Die Kundgebung, an der etwa 700 ausländische jugendliche Gewerkschaftler und der nahezu vollständige Bundesvorstand des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbundes (DGB) teilnehmen, steht unter dem Motto 'Lasst endlich Europa werden'. Als Hauptredner des Abends spricht der Friedensnobelpreisträger von 1951, Leon Jouhaux. Ein kilometerlanger Fackelzug der 30.000 mit mehr als tausend Fahnen und Wimpeln und 120 Transparente mit den Losungen und Forderungen der deutschen Gewerkschaftsjugend bewegt sich anschließend durch die Fackel erleuchtete Stadt. Sportwettkämpfe und Laienspiel füllen die Zeit bis zur großen Abschlusskundgebung in der Radrennbahn im Waldstadion. The keynote speaker of the assembly was the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 1951, Leon Jouhaux. July 18, 1952: First federal youth meeting of the trade union youth with around 30,000 participants under the motto: 'We carry the future.' The highlight is the large international rally in the Festhalle. The rally, attended by around 700 young trade unionists from abroad and almost the entire federal executive committee of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), has the slogan 'Let Europe finally become a reality.' A kilometer-long torchlight procession of 30,000 people with more than a thousand flags and pennants and 120 banners bearing the slogans and demands of the German trade union youth then moves through the torch-lit city.
