He goes fishing with his grandmother and horseback riding with his brother. Life is full of wonderful things to do and to learn. Will Kevin eventually abandon his traditional way of life or will it be a source of continuing enrichment? oh [Music] dad died August 1st 1973 born May 24st 1939 he was a bron Rider and I remember when he used to teach me how to ride my horse want to go for a ride Gordy yeah where where you want to go how you doing SE my name is Kevin Al and I'm a fountain Indian I live in Fountain Reserve with my brother gordi and my my other brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and grandparents I like staying in Fountain better than any other place I've seen [Music] anywhere [Music] [Applause] I've been living with my grandparents ever since my dad died 3 years ago I call my grandmother mama ever since I've been living with [Music] [Applause] her she has arthritis now but she still likes to come [Applause] fishing my grandmother she has eight children 58 grandchildren 68 great grandchildren and three and 1 half great great grandchildren Here Comes one ging watch it now he went under the SL didn't he come out yeah did you get it yeah doing in the spring we go to Fountain stream two catch trout the trout are spawning so you can catch lots of them you see the old way used to make this they call it milk weed it's down in the river and there P it out Grandpa makes fishing nets and fixes them from me and my grandmother out lots of lots of hard he remembers when there was no cars around here just boats and horses and then the railroad came grandpa is 84 and he can't get around as much as he used to but he sure can tell some good stories the old Al I was listening to when he was telling about his experience about the sasb he never hold his G so he seen that thing he he beats it you know this Sasquatch is a big hairy creature that is about 6 feet tall and my friend told me that he thinks he saw one when he's walking to school it's lucky he got to ride that's what just coming towards me I think I'll hold my ground he look at me and he says there's no man alive can stand and face a ass my knife is kind of D hold my knife show you how scrap oops I guess this is my there aren't many people who still 10 hide but that CH does this is the old one see how easy whenever my cousins go hunting they give us the deer hide you too hard yeah I have a little bit more this way this part first you take off the fur then you have to is so good to get itself and then ring it out really [Music] good oops now you can start drying it keep on down down to the bottom look like a snake I don't scare you Auntie let's stretch the thing out we got to get a tent here grab it over here so pull over here pull pull pull you twisted there there no you tied up there no over here over here over here when Mama got her arthitis andr came back from the United States to look after her [Music] [Music] yeah just TI right down [Music] here okay let's get out of this at least it's soften it up quite a bit you need dry pine cones to make your fire for [Music] smoking we got a good fire yep did you think you got enough corns where' you get them up in here how long does it take it doesn't take too long to check on it I hope it doesn't get windy [Music] now how much stitches did you get I know did you go to the hospital yeah who brought you Arthur T you went to get a minute yeah Gord is 6 and whenever he's in trouble I always out let's go see where you racked [Music] up [Applause] [Music] is this what what happened yeah what happened it come down yesterday his b wasn't working he fell off his bike and he went right through the ball wi fence slid off the pedal and now put on my b here and this how loose where did you land here what was your breik there did your goodies go on the other side the fence the popcorn where' they go here that's how you got that cup in your head yeah did you cry yeah how come it's Hur Arthur had to take him to the hospital and he got quite a few stitches on his head and his arm [Applause] he you than Charlie come on Carmen that's a tropy you guys car is my sister likes let them all come every year in May 24th the alks make a parade in and the Indians oliv have a float [Music] [Music] [Music] here's year I went with the Indians and the parade this year it's Carmen I'm in off the garden it's pretty easy to get a soccer game going in in a little [Music] [Applause] tier move in there get ready for [Music] [Music] the sometimes it play goalie and sometimes I play center [Music] it's hard to score a goal because some of the players are much bigger than I [Music] am I'm not sure what I want to be when I grow up but I think I really want to be an athlete [Applause] [Applause] pretty good [Music]
