Sprecher: Hermann Kner Ein alter Mann denkt über das gesellschaftliche Phänomen, dass niemand mehr Zeit hat, nach. Für ihn ist 'Zeit haben' nicht 'real', sondern eine 'Sache der Anschauung'. Verdeutlicht wird der spürbare Mangel an Zeit am Beispiel eines kleinen Jungen, der, vernachlässigt von seinen Eltern, auf der Suche nach der Zeit ist. Er möchte die Zeit geschenkt bekommen oder sie sogar kaufen, damit ihm jemand aus dem Buch, das er bei sich hat, vorlesen kann. Eine Marktfrau gibt ihm eine Tüte voll Zeit, die er seiner Mutter mitbringen soll, die ihn ihrerseits in der Zwischenzeit verzweifelt sucht. Die Erkenntnis der Mutter, dass sie mehr Zeit für ihren Sohn aufbringen sollte, ist am Schluss des Films ansatzweise spürbar. An old man thinks about the social phenomenon that nobody has time anymore. For him, 'having time' is not 'real', but a 'matter of opinion'. The noticeable lack of time is illustrated by the example of a little boy who, neglected by his parents, is in search of time. He wants to be given time as a gift, or even to buy it, so that someone can read to him from the book he has with him. A market woman gives him a bag full of time to bring to his mother, who in turn is desperately looking for him in the meantime. The mother's realization that she should spend more time with her son is rudimentary at the end of the film.
