16mm Film - Grüße von Twaha aus Tansania - BRD 1975
Buch und Regie: Hans Rolf Strobel
Kamera: Otmar Schmid
The everyday life of a family in Tanzania living and working in an Ujamaa cooperative is portrayed from the point of view of the eight-year-old son Twaha. Twaha begins his daily routine with getting up, washing and eating breakfast. To this end, he himself provides the necessary introductory comments in first person. This form offers the possibility to present the most important information about Tanzania in general and the Ujamaa idea in particular for children in an understandable way. It thus also contributes better to correcting the distorted and clichéd image of Africa.
