Am Beispiel einer Beatgruppe ('The Who'), eines Fotomodelis ('Pat Booth'), einer Sekretärin und eines Jugendleiters werden die Absichten, Vorstellungen, Probleme, Vorbilder junger Menschen in London dargestellt und untersucht. Der Film, aufgenommen im Londoner East End, vermittelt Impressionen über die 'Jugend von heute': Lange Haare, Beat, Marihuana, FotomodelIe und Agenturen, King's Road, Chelsea, Boutiquen, Bars, Massenclubs für Jugendliche auf einer Insel in der Themse, 'Task-Force', eine Jugendorganisation, die sich um alleinstehende alte Menschen kümmert, Beatschuppen, eine Haschparty u. v. a. m. in einem Film, der 'die moderne Jugend und ihren Aufbruch zu neuen Ufern' schildert. (Fernsehausstrahlung in der ARD am 03.07.1967) A film about the attitude to life of young people in London who protest against the affluent society and seek liberation from it, but are nevertheless prisoners of this society. Using the example of a beat group ('The Who'), a photo model ('Pat Booth'), a secretary and a youth leader, the intentions, ideas, problems, role models of young people in London are presented and examined. The film, shot in London's East End, conveys impressions of the 'youth of today': long hair, beat, marijuana, photo models and agencies, King's Road, Chelsea, boutiques, bars, mass clubs for young people on an island in the Thames, 'Task-Force', a youth organization that cares for single old people, beat sheds, a hash party, and much more in a film that depicts 'modern youth and its departure for new shores'.
