It operates with a fictional frame narrative in the form of a modern fairy tale and interspersed real sections at authentic, water-shaped locations. Two children discover a strange tent at a fairground. A magician, embodied by the unforgettable Lukas Ammann, makes an appearance and invites the two inside. In its interior stands a mysterious crystal from which images can emerge. Thus they see nine episodes one after another, telling of the diversity, beauty and power of water: a waterfall, water droplets, and more.
