For many years, Timmy (Jan Momber) was the pampered youngest child of the family. But one day Anna (Bettina Mau) shows up with a baby. She is the mother — and Timmy's brother Pit (Rainer Strecker) is the father! At first, Timmy has difficulty with his new role as "the youngest uncle in the whole street." But it doesn't take long before he too grows fond of his nephew Borai. (First broadcast on ARD: 29.11.1983, repeated 03.01.1985) 17-year-old Pit has an illegitimate son with his ex-girlfriend Anna. One evening, Anna promptly drops the child off with the father. While he is still completely perplexed, 10-year-old Timmy and his 13-year-old sister hastily look after the baby since the parents are away from home. When they return, they can't believe their eyes. The family council meets: the child is to be handed over to the youth welfare office. After all sorts of turbulence, however, a relationship gradually develops between the whole family and the baby, and soon nobody wants to give it up. The family takes on foster care and guardianship, and Pit wants to adopt his son after reaching the age of 21.
