Two German tourists meet the auxiliary policeman Hilario in Mexico City, who tells them the story of Mexico's rural exodus and that of millions of slum dwellers. On their further journey, they come to Chamula in Chiapas. There they have to find out why the Indians are resisting the tourists; at the same time they get a brief insight into Indian culture.
