Eva, an attractive but somewhat chubby 15-year-old girl, is dissatisfied with herself. She lacks self-confidence and withdraws from her classmates. She feels overlooked and mocked. Eva's dark, unattractive clothing is an outward expression of this lack of self-worth. Only one classmate makes an effort with Eva. But out of insecurity, Eva rejects her. Eva withdraws more and more and eats in secret. But even this does not seem to satisfy her, and she doesn't look very happy doing it. When she looks at herself in the mirror, she pulls and tugs at herself. She wants to be different from who she is. Her mother senses her loneliness and sadness and tries to help her. Eva decides to seriously lose weight and asks her mother for help: she should cook differently — according to a diet recipe book Eva has obtained. The mother fears for the peace of the family, but Eva convinces her: "Family life doesn't consist of eating together alone." Strengthened by the apparent support of her mother and Michel's affection, Eva can now also accept her classmate's efforts to become friends with her. Together they go clothes shopping. She accepts the praise of her new friend — "You look great" — with joy. A "whole new Eva" begins to emerge.
