One day a quarrel breaks out, but it is precisely this argument that leads to the two very different boys becoming close friends. The initially sporadic joint activities multiply, and the two experience many adventures together that bond them closely. When Franco's father one day has to move away for professional reasons, Mario's family even offers to take the shy Franco in with them. A big race in which the two friends take part ultimately becomes the test of their friendship. Friends for Life tells the enchanting story of a boyhood friendship and occupies a very special place within the youth film genre. The film, directed with Franco Rossi's sensitive direction, under which the young actors Geronimo Meynier and Andrea Sciré appear like seasoned professionals, creates a masterpiece — an extremely successful mix of comedy and a subtle portrayal of youthful thinking and feeling. The film also received the rating "particularly valuable" in Germany.
